The Rare Pink lady wears exquisite pink diamonds to the Oscars

Why do we love the Oscars? The famous awards night isn’t only an occasion to celebrate silver screen stars, but the fashion world too. The Oscars represent a historical album of film and fashion through the ages and it all began in the Roaring Twenties.

The film industry’s own runway show of the year premiered in 1928 and showcased the old Hollywood glamour of the Twenties. Champagne flutes, flapper dresses, Art Deco design, women’s suffrage, speakeasies and jazz music. Who wouldn’t love that? The Rare Pink lady certainly does…

Collection designed by: Preet Deol

She is celebrating the 2016 Academy Awards by choosing to wear Art Deco inspired jewellery pieces, as a personal expression of her taste and as an homage to the era. With romantically pulled back hair and an elegant grey dress, she is letting her bespoke pink diamond demi-parure be the real star.

The platinum and 18 carat rose gold earrings are encrusted with pavé pink and white diamonds. Framed with filigree and fine milgrain beading, the grand jewels of the pair are the brilliant round pink diamond centres encircled by a halo of pavé white diamonds with dangling briolette pink diamonds for the finishing touch.

The necklace is an inspired combination of platinum and 18ct rose gold adorned with marquise, brilliant-round, kite-shaped and teardrop pink diamonds. Connecting all of these fancy-shaped pink diamonds are delicate lace-like rows of pavé white diamonds.

The radiant-cut of the centre pink diamond of this ring creates a vibrant depth of colour which is complimented by the icy flashes of the baguette white diamonds. The claw-set 8.0 carat centre diamond is framed by sumptuous filigree patterns and delicate milgrain detailing adding classic touches of Edwardian and Art deco styles.

The bold cuff bracelet is emblazoned with kite-shaped and princess-cut pink diamonds set into platinum with geometric cut-outs throughout the design. The focal point of the cuff  is a 3.5ct princess-cut pink diamond, outlined by pavé white diamonds. The antique filigree pattern, a common element throughout the collection, adds a delicate touch against the boldness of the cut-out pattern.
